Is Marijuana A Useless Drug?
Not What You Think
Marijuana: Not Just a Useless Drug
Marijuana is not a useless drug. There are a million things I can say about marijuana. It’s a waste of time, it makes you stupid, it makes you lazy. All of these are true in the majority of cases, but if used with intention, marijuana can prove to be very useful.
Honestly, I don’t even want to call it a drug. “Plant medicine” is the correct word.
So growing up, I never even considered doing weed. I was never around it and, to be frank, couldn’t be bothered with it. I’m glad my life was grounded in something higher. Good parents and environment will do that for you. The only problem is that maybe I was a little bit too sheltered, and that can limit your experience in life. When experience is limited, it becomes difficult to understand other people's perspectives. How could I judge people for using weed if I’ve never done it?
As I got older and began having health issues, I looked into plant medicines. I first did mushrooms as a “gateway drug” and fell in love with psychedelics. The first time I did weed, it was an edible from my friend. All I remember was getting really horny, then really tired, and passing out. But it sparked my curiosity.
After experimenting with marijuana over the following years, I’ve begun to realize why people are so drawn to it.
In my experience, it babies you in a way. Most people's lives are dead. You can see it in people's eyes. There’s no adventure, purpose, or new experiences. Life feels dull to the majority of people. The reason for this is many things, but what weed does is it provides relief from a bland existence.
The Problem
If you use weed like the majority of people on the planet, it becomes one of those things that’s not bad enough to ruin your life, but it’s also not good enough to improve your life. This, in a sense, is worse than being bad because it keeps you stuck and confused.
There’s a Better Way
A higher and more responsible way to use marijuana would be as a way to feel deeper and get out of your head. You can use marijuana to work through emotional issues and connect to things in a deeper way. There are many instances where after using weed, people become more “hippie.” From an energetic perspective, the marijuana plant does open your pineal gland and make you more self-aware.
If used properly, marijuana can be a beneficial medicine. The problem is that most people abuse it, and what’s left is people being spaced out, hungry, dependent, and forgetting where they put their car keys.
When it comes to any plant medicine, you shouldn’t feel like you need it. The decision to take a plant medicine should be done consciously and with intention.
Conclusion
Marijuana, when used with intention and respect, can have many benefits. It is up to you to figure out if you’re using it as a crutch or as a medicine.
